IFS-Informed EMDR Intensives

When you understand your patterns—but still can't seem to change them.

Extended, individualized EMDR therapy for people who feel stuck despite insight, previous therapy, or knowing exactly why they respond the way they do.

You've done the work. Why are you still stuck?

Maybe you know exactly where your patterns came from.

You've been to therapy. You've learned about trauma, attachment, boundaries, anxiety, or your nervous system. You may understand your triggers and even know what you should be doing differently.

And yet… you still react.

You still get overwhelmed.

You still shut down.

You still find yourself people-pleasing, overthinking, avoiding, disconnecting, or repeating patterns you thought you'd already worked through.

Knowing why something happens isn't always enough to create lasting change.

Sometimes the next step isn't more insight. It's working with what is happening underneath the insight.

That's where IFS-informed EMDR can be helpful.

Insight is important.
But insight isn't always the same thing as change.

What makes IFS-informed EMDR different?

EMDR helps the brain and nervous system process experiences that may still feel stuck in the past.

IFS, or Internal Family Systems, gives us another way to understand the different parts of you that developed to protect you along the way.

Sometimes one part of you desperately wants to change while another part is saying, “Absolutely not.”

One part may want connection while another expects rejection.

One part may want to rest while another believes you have to keep performing.

One part may know you're safe while another part of your body is still preparing for something bad to happen.

We don't have to fight those parts or force them to get out of the way.

Instead, we can become curious about what they're trying to protect and work with them as part of the healing process.

In an intensive, I may integrate IFS-informed parts work with EMDR, somatic awareness, attachment-focused work, and nervous-system regulation based on what you need.

Is an IFS-Informed EMDR Intensive right for you?

You may be a good fit for an intensive if:

  • You've already done significant therapy but still feel stuck.

  • You understand your patterns intellectually but continue to experience them emotionally or physically.

  • You keep repeating relationship patterns you don't want to repeat.

  • You feel like different parts of you want very different things.

  • You experience anxiety, hypervigilance, shutdown, avoidance, perfectionism, or people-pleasing.

  • You have trauma or attachment experiences that continue to affect your life today.

  • You've tried EMDR before and feel like there is more work to do.

  • You want focused time to work on a specific treatment goal rather than relying solely on weekly sessions.

  • You're ready to approach the work with curiosity rather than trying to force yourself to “get better.”

An intensive isn't about rushing therapy.

It's about creating enough focused time and space to do meaningful work while still respecting your nervous system, your capacity, and your individual treatment needs. Interested in weekly EMDR sessions? Visit Here for more information .

What if I've tried EMDR before?

You're not the only person who has wondered:

“Why didn't EMDR work for me?”

There are many reasons someone may not feel like they got what they hoped for from previous EMDR therapy.

Sometimes there wasn't enough preparation.

Sometimes the target wasn't fully identified.

Sometimes there are protective responses that need more attention before processing can move forward.

Sometimes the work simply moved too quickly—or not deeply enough.

And sometimes the approach just wasn't the right fit.

An IFS-informed approach allows us to slow down and become curious about what's happening rather than assuming resistance means you're doing something wrong.

During an intensive, we'll spend time understanding what you've already experienced, what you're hoping will be different, and what may need to happen before deeper processing begins.

Wondering if an intensive is right for you?

You don't have to figure that out on your own.

A consultation gives us an opportunity to talk about what you're hoping to work on, your previous therapy experiences, and whether an IFS-informed EMDR intensive makes sense for your goals.
