Amanda

Meet Amanda Marks, LPC, LMHC, CPCS

Hi, I’m Amanda, a therapist and clinical supervisor who believes therapy should help you do more than understand why you feel the way you do, it should help you create lasting and meaningful change.

I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, eating and body image concerns, difficult relationships, and the lasting effects of experiences that may still feel very present. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are more than the symptoms or patterns that brought you to therapy.

My work draws from EMDR therapy (where I am certified in EMDR and also an EMDR Consultant-In-Training), attachment-based approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic and body-based therapies, and other evidence-informed approaches. I’m especially interested in helping clients understand the connections between their nervous system, emotions, relationships, thoughts, and behaviors—while developing practical tools to feel more grounded and connected to themselves.

Therapy with me isn’t about telling you what you should do. It’s about getting curious together about what’s happening, understanding what your system has learned to do to protect you, and creating new possibilities for how you want to live.

I provide therapy in Georgia and Florida, including the Atlanta/East Cobb area and Coconut Creek, Florida, as well as telehealth for clients who are eligible in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Vermont.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start therapy. You just have to be willing to get curious about what could change.

Therapy That Goes Beyond Insight

Understanding why you feel the way you do is important. But sometimes insight alone isn't enough to create change.

I use trauma-informed approaches including EMDR, IFS/parts work, somatic therapy, attachment-based approaches, and nervous-system regulation to help you understand not only what is happening, but why your mind and body continue to respond the way they do.
